Angelina Jolie recently visited her daughter Zahara at college to join in the homecoming celebrations. The 17-year-old freshman was accompanied by her mom as they participated in various tailgate activities around campus. Jolie was even gracious enough to take selfies with some of the students.
At an outdoor event on campus, Angelina Jolie and her daughter Zahara showed their support for Georgia Democratic candidates Senator Raphael Warnock and Stacey Abrams by holding signs with their names. It was a special moment for Abrams, who also graduated from Spelman College. Additionally, Angelina expressed her joy over her daughter’s acceptance to the college. A student named Jordan Berry even snagged a memorable selfie with the celebrity and shared how it all happened with ET. The Jolie-Pitt family’s celebration of Blackness and support for important political causes is admirable.
My Spelman College homecoming experience was made unforgettable when I caught a glimpse of Angelina Jolie right in front of me. However, I refrained from making a scene and disturbing her as we were surrounded by a crowd of people. Instead of risking everyone swarming her, I chose not to turn around and take a selfie, as it could create an uncomfortable environment for the famous actress.
Approaching her calmly, I introduced myself and asked if I could take a selfie with her. Knowing that she was Angelina Jolie, I wanted to avoid causing a commotion, so I suggested we keep it low-key. We took the picture with me holding the phone at a low angle, both of us smiling, and then went our separate ways without attracting any attention.
In August, a mother of six helped her daughter Zahara move into her dorm room to start the fall semester. She shared an emotional video where she said that she was close to crying but hadn’t started yet. The video was shared by the vice president for student affairs at Spelman.
